Imbibing hot water flavored by the leaves of your choice, also known as drinking tea, is a long standing tradition. Tea sets often look as old as the origins of this pastime.

Hues & Brews offer a Tea for One Set (which they call a Tea for 1 Set)in their Cattitude range. This breaks the mould of the florally designs and ornate handles your granny probably had on her tea set.

The design is obviously ideal for cat lovers but, as the name of this series suggests, is for anyone with a bit of attitude. The lines are clean and simple and colors are uncomplicated and cheeky.

This is a three piece ceramic set with pot, cup and saucer all stacking neatly on top of one another. The pot is 15 oz and will fill the cup it so neatly fits into, twice. The saucer is as wide in diameter as the pot spout and handles, making it extra easy to store and keep safe. The pot is decorated with two cats – a mommy cat and her kitten. Their eyes are a striking blue color and seem to follow you, just like those of a real cat. The cup has little kitty paw prints on it, evidence of cats described above. This set, as the name suggests is ivory in color with black detailing.

This is definitely a fun interpretation of a staple kitchen item suited to the casual tea drinker. I would probably choose something else if shopping for the queen of England but this would be top on my list for my funky aunt that lives down the road.

Feel free to use the product in the microwave or dishwasher. It is ceramic which means that some care is required but provided you do not incorporate it into your juggling act, you should be fine.

When you see it in real life, you will surely agree with me, that it is, if nothing else, cute!  If you are looking for a cheap tea for one set then the Hues&Brews Tea For 1, Cattitude Orange is a fun and stylish option.

Looking For A Charming But Cheap Tea For One Set, Try The Portmeirion Up The Garden Path Tea For One Set

BUY A Cheap Portmeirion Up The Garden Path Tea For One Set HERE!

The history of this charming form of pottery stems from the Welsh town of Portmeirion. Susan William Ellis launched the range of Portmeirion Pottery in 1961. Her pottery, noticeable for its decoration, was sold at the ‘Ship Shop,’ a gift store in this coastal town in North Wales. Some say that the quaint village was modelled on the town of Portofino, in Italy. Interestingly, the pottery does not come from Portmeirion. It is made in Stoke-on-Trent, in England.

The Portmeirion Pottery includes a few different ranges including the Magic City, Magic Garden and most famously, the Botanic Garden. Today, the company has a worldwide following with a turnover of tens of millions of dollars (or pounds to be precise).

The Laura Stoddard – Up the Garden Path line is one of the newest collections. It is based on the illustrations by this famous artist, from the book of the same title. Those familiar with her work will instantly recognise the colours and elegant style for which she gained popularity.

This particular tea for one piece is decorated with stylishly drawn singular flowers and a pair of petite English Ladies, presumably out for a stroll. It is refreshing and modern, without losing the dignity of the age old tradition of enjoying a refined cup of tea; in this case, tea for one.

For those not familiar with a tea for one set, it contains a tea pot, which rests inside a tea cup. It takes up less space when stored and has the added feature of warming the cup, while the tea is brewing. The pot is then lifted out of the holding cup and poured in. The pot holds about 12 oz of tea which is enough for 2 cups.

The tea pot in question is delicately shaped and elegant but fun. Despite its dainty appearance, the item is both dishwasher and microwave friendly. The dimensions are 4 x 2 x 2 inches and it weighs roughly 2 pounds.

An ideal gift for the young or young at heart, who take time out to enjoy a cup or two of nature’s brew. Spoil a friend of treat yourself, this is a gift worth giving and certainly one worth keeping.

Be Good To Yourself – Make Tea For One
Each of us longs for a few precious moments of every day in which to unwind, combat stress and try to recapture some sense of perspective over a cup of hot, delightful tea. There no need to feel guilty about taking a single segment of each day to enjoy your favorite brew. Consider it a form of personal therapy or just taking time to be good to yourself. Tea for one is the courageous act of the harried, the exhausted and the frustrated. Make it a daily ritual of self-indulgence. After all, it’s relatively inexpensive and yet, worth saving your sanity.

Tea For One – A Ritual Fit For Royalty
The restorative properties of tea heal the sick, warm the soul and tease the palate with the simplest of pleasures. Do make tea for one a daily ritual. Personalize it so it has special meaning. Look for a teapot and tea cup with saucer that is in synch with your tastes. You’ll want a tea cozy to keep your teapot good and hot when in use. A tea cozy, for the uninitiated, is a type of cover that holds in the heat of water in the teapot. If you prefer an infuser to a teabag, look for one in metal or glass in which to place tea leaves.

Then, rummage through several tea speciality shops with due diligence until you find a collection of teas that fit your moods and tastes. Learn how to brew tea properly. Start with cold fresh water heated to a rolling boil. Pour the boiling water carefully into the teapot. Never brew tea directly in the teapot. Tannic acid in tea stains the inside of the pot which then collects and alters the tea’s flavor. Place your teapot covered with your tea cozy and your cup and saucer on a sturdy tray beside your favorite side table and chair. Pour your tea with regal elegance and enjoy that first slow sip of the dark elixir that brings tranquility back into your world.

Teas For Different Times
For morning people, choose an Irish or English Breakfast tea. Earl Grey might be wonderful for an afternoon “tea-for-one” soiree. For a quicker jolt back, try Russian Tea or any of the broad selection of teas of India, China or Surinam. You can find herbal teas to suit any whim.

Tea For One

Nowadays it has become necessary to take time out for oneself. However, finding the time to do such a thing is not always an easy feat. And yet, for those who find time and money tight, they need look no further than their own kitchen – for some tea; tea for one!

A vast majority of people drink tea on a regular basis, making it one of the most popular hot drinks across the Globe. In some beliefs and cultures, tea is a vital part of a ceremony, as it is regarded as a vital component of a spiritual life.

Tea comes with many flavors and smells, which means that it is important to determine what type of tea you prefer whether it is black teas, smoked teas, green teas, or even herbal teas. Herbal teas are not technically regarded as tea, however, if you need to avoid caffeine, you will find that this is the perfect substitute.

When you have chosen the type of tea that you want for whatever ritual, make sure that your tea is loose, which means no teabags. By having loose tea you are able to interact with the leaf of the tea which it of vital importance to establish a connection with the tea spirit and yourself.

Once you have found your loose tea, you need to next consider your water. Even though you may want to use the water from your tap, which may provide an earthy taste, you may want to consider using bottled water, unless of course you have your own well. Have someone help you pick the type of water you want. Do you want your water imported? If so, from where? How about water from a spring, or a glacier? You might even want to think about rain water, or taking water from a stream or spring that you know is unpolluted. Whatever you chose it is important that you are conscious of your choice.

Of course once you have the tea and the water established the next important step is to clear your mind of any obligations you need to do. Free yourself of any guilt and worry and spend the next 30 minutes in a relaxed state of mind. When you are making your tea, remove any distractions that surround the area you will be working at.

When you have everything set on your tea alter, give thanks. Invite the sacred to join you. Only when you are ready should you then pour the tea making sure to remain silent throughout. This is a time to reflect.

As you cradle your cup notice the color of the tea leaf, its shape and the smell it produces. Engage all your senses throughout. As you take your first sip think about the taste. Do you like it? Take another sip. Do you find that with each sip, the tea gets bitter or sweeter over time?

Once you have finished your tea for one sit still for a moment to contemplate the ceremony that you have undertaken. Give thanks. When you wash your tea tools away, do you find that you have slowed down, taking your time with everything, instead of rushing? Now that your senses are engaged and your mind and body stilled and refreshed, you will be ready to continue with your active life. You will find that the mystery of tea will remain in your spirit.

Tea For One Sets

Tea aficionados are not only fussy about their tea selections but also about all the accessories that come along with the drinking of such a socially prominent beverage. But it is not always about sitting around a table chatting with friends over tea and scones. The true tea drinker enjoys it solo as well, as indicated by the number of tea for one sets on the market these days.

There are two kinds of tea for one sets. The first resembles any ordinary tea set with a tray, a creamer, sugar bowl and teapot except that everything including the teapot is smaller than usual. A twelve inch square tray is a nice lap size and also fits well on a writing desk. Dainty tea for one pots are available in the classic 1600s English Brown Betty style. The shape of this tubby little terra cotta teapot is said to produce the best pot of tea in the British tradition. These are not precisely miniature tea sets as one would give to a child, but rather designed for smaller quarters and smaller servings. They are similar to the kind of tea for one sets that used to be passed down the aisles for matinee theatre patrons in London.

The other popular style of tea for one sets is an ingenious design, usually three stacking pieces in a matching pattern. On the bottom is a generously sized saucer. On the saucer sits a cup, also usually a bit larger than standard. It needs to be a bit larger to accommodate the teapot which will rest atop the cup. When removed from the stack, the teapot is filled with tea and water in the usual ritual. After steeping, the tea is poured into the cup, and then the teapot can be replaced atop the cup and used to keep the tea warm while you read the paper or let out the cat.

Sometimes, in the case of more modern designs, there will be no saucer. And in some sets the cup is overturned over the teapot at the top of the stack, serving as a teapot lid.

Victorian, French toile, Asian bamboo and rose garden patterns are among the most popular patterns in tea for one sets. While the antique ones are bound to be more expensive, there are plenty of more modern designs and patterns to be had even at pottery outlets for modest prices.

Tea Sets For One

There are many colorful options available, when searching for tea sets for one and a vast array of designs to choose from. If you choose to embark on a solo tea party, though it may be lonely, it can be made interesting by the tea sets at your disposal. There is not the normal etiquette that comes with having a “company tea party”, yet you may still indulge on the delectable tidbits that usually accompany afternoon tea. There are the finger sandwiches, petite, filled with sea food, deviled egg salad or the nostalgic Cucumber salad; borrowed from the Victorian age. Scones will follow, cheddar scones, raisin scones with cinnamon or for the sweet tooth-chocolate chip scones! If your culinary tastes are still unsatisfied, there is tea cake of every kind to experiment with: pumpkin pinwheels, baklava or petite fours; another Victorian marvel.

Then, there is the tea! Earl and Lady Grey, lemon and chamomile, green tea and English Breakfast tea. Choosing and brewing tea is somewhat of an art and once again experimentation is at your disposal. There are even many different varieties of tea pots, including metal and porcelain.

Tea time varies depending on where you are in the world; in Africa, it is a lunch break type of situation, in Australia and New Zealand it is more of a “snack”, while in Hong Kong it is a small afternoon meal.
It was the Portuguese wife of King Charles the II (1661) who originally brought the idea  of “taking tea” into England. Later on Anna Russel, who was a Duchess, revolutionized tea by making it into a larger affair; more like a meal and less like a snack.

There is also High Tea, which includes such delights as cold meat, fish and biscuits it is either a late afternoon snack or takes the place of dinner.

The United States is rather unfamiliar with the idea of “tea” and our “coffee break”, though seemingly similar, is more of a “gossip gathering” ritual than anything else. Our version of High tea is taking out our best China and making thin sandwiches on white bread with no crust.

As you can see, no matter where you go, tea time is a delightful and widely acceptable practice that many different cultures enjoy.
So; whether you are enjoying your tea set for one, or basking in the company of many, may you find your perfect cup of tea!

The Tea For One Teapot

In Japanese culture, the tea ceremony is considered to be an essence of their aesthetics that is a ritual that dates back as far as the 16th century. Then the illustrious tea master Sen no Rikyu performed cha-do to perfection, or what is called the “way of tea.” Since then it has become a ceremony that has changed very little in nearly half a millennium.

It is important that before you start you own tea ceremony that you gather your tea tools. It is also an ideal idea to have a tea set aside primarily for rituals. However if you do not have a tea set, you must take the time to find one. Searching for the perfect tea for one teapot is not to be hurried. Nothing about tea should be hurried.

In some cases it may take weeks, or even years, before you find the perfect teapot. This should not stop you from searching for one. After all, once you have bought the perfect teapot, the satisfaction and delight that you will experience will make your tea ceremony more special. When you are searching for your teapot you should have an initial idea of what it is you want. What exactly do you want to achieve with your tea ceremony? Do you want to have a teapot that is clear of any designs? Are you searching for a clear style, which will allow wisdom in without being influenced by anything else surrounding your teapot? Or maybe you want a design such as a dragon, or blossoms, or even a peach on your teapot. Maybe you want Chinese writing or a bamboo design that has been delicately traced around your teapot in glaze. You may even be considering an English bone china teapot.

Before deciding on what you feel is right, hold each teapot in your hands. Get a feel for it. Does it feel right? Do not pick a teapot because it looks pretty. However, keep in mind that what you may chose now, you may decide against later. So be prepared to change with what you are feeling as time goes by.

A tea for one teapot is one of the main features of the tea ceremony. After all, the teapot is where you will be holding your water, after you have determined the source of your water. The right teapot will bring your tea to life after the water has been poured in and has been brought to boil. That first taste will make a lasting impression, which is why searching for the right teapot is a process that will take time.
