Well, in my ever so humble opinion, the ‘Chantal 13-Ounce Tea-for-One’ set has got a perfect balance of both. It is gorgeous to look at and is a well designed, comfortable to use product.

The tea for one idea has been interpreted in a million different ways, catering to everyone’s tastes. I have seen from the bizarre to the downright awful and occasionally, such as in this instance, the just plain perfect. Not too much, not too little, spot on.

I like everything about this set. It is available in 3 colors and I like them all; an earthy, robust red which is my personal preference; something they choose to describe as curry yellow, which is unfair because the name does not capture the warm, soft hue of this particular model; and finally, the aptly titled, glossy indigo blue.

I like the design. The tea pot matches the tea cup it resides in, both in shape and size. The spherical shape that the tea pot and cup make when cradled is elegant and attractive. The handles are distinctly shaped but still congruent with the design language and the lid is just stylized enough to stand out but remain very practical at the same time. I am particularly fond of the spout, which is short and discrete. Discrete is actually the perfect word for this tea for one set.

I like the material it is made in and the feel it gives to the product. It is constructed from durable stoneware and then glazed. It is of course free of cadmium and lead. I am assured that it is very good at retaining heat. It is well put together, the base for instance is hand sanded to ensure a smooth surface and not cause any scratches.
