There are two kinds of people in the world: those who drink tea and those who don’t.  Others say that the human species are divided into people who are cat lovers and people who are not.

One way or the other, this tea for one teapot set, is for tea drinkers who love cats. No ifs, buts or maybes about it.

The design is imaginative and ultimately looks very little like a tea set at all. I think that is the theme of this design. Fantasy. A break from reality, perhaps just what a cup of tea is supposed to be.

The credit goes to well known artist, Kathy Hatch. A Pennsylvania native, her work is well known across the US. She gets her inspiration from her garden and five pets in rural Connecticut.

The tea set is mad up of a pair of cats, snuggled up close, to keep the tea warm, inside i.e. they are the tea pot. They even have a scarf to make sure that no heat escapes. Small details are painted on, such as the eyes, noses, whiskers and unmistakable kitty stripes. The feline duo are seated on top of the tea cup which in turn is designed as a plant pot complete with some fake cracks and a little flower, presumably peeping out of an imaginary hole. You will either find this funny or just plain bizarre, depending on your sentiments toward these night time creatures. A third cat is cleverly deployed cozying up to the tea cup or should I say, plant pot, with his tail extending out and doubling up as the handle for the tea cup.

My judgment would be that this is a great item for the underage or for those determined not to grow up, even if just for a few minutes in the day. Time enough to drink two cups of tea from their Kathy Hatch’s Purr-Fect Tea for One Teapot Set, to be precise.
